In ground Duck Pool

That is my plan for this spring. I used the garden tub because the back of it is really sloped a lot so they can walk up it no problem. I just need to figure out what to put around the edge to make it look better. I had to use a saws-all on it because it had a big platform and steps up to it and the edging isn't very straight. Although it is just big enough for the three that are in there and I plan to add a few more this spring. They free range in the day and spend most of the time in the creek so the tub is just kind of for the late night or early morning "quick dip"

I like the original pic and it would work. I would also stick to a kiddie pool or shalllow type tub. Because ALWAYS bear in mind doesnt matter what you use ducks are pigs and are going to poop and track dirt in. Ive played the game. Your best and easiest way to deal with kiddie pools in ground day in day out is a sump pump. Yes also if you do have a big slope making a drainhole will work. But the best, easiest and fastest way is to sump pump it, lift it out and rinse and fill. For me personally keeping it above ground was easiest but it does look better in ground I admit.

Try this. I piped it into a swail alongside the house so it is super, doesn't get the yard all muddy. Of course placement of the pool would depend on how easy it is. I don't have the back breaking work of tipping the pool or cracking it and the installation of the drain in the pool was so easy. I don't have it sealed to the pipe even. Just laid on top of 3" drain. This drain condenses to 2"pipe.

When we have a thaw I'll take pictures.

You might be able to use an old iron tub or hot tub I have several not very pretty but I can easily drain and clean them and they will last longer than a plastic pool.

@Ozarkguy I have seen many in my area for under $100 that I will be looking at.

Check the local scrap yard I see them there all the time you might also check the habit for humanity resale store 2657 pike ave north little rock 501-771-9494 ive seen some hot tubs here occasionally.
