I Have 4 ducklings (ive had since they hatched) They are 1 month old on 5/10/18. I just tried switching them to wood shavings (larger sized shavings ) from hay and of course they attempted to eat it possibly some smaller pieces but I removed them and put hay over the top of the shavings in hopes they might get use to it slowly. Well today my littlest one isn't acting its self and when I went to pick it up it spit up some water it isn't laying around it still moves around and drinking but could it have eaten a chip and gotten it stuck? if so what can I do to help it? (these are Muscovy ducklings)
Thanks in advance!

Usually they will just put the shavings in their mouth and then spit out. They learn with their bill. Mine were raised on the larger shavings. It might just be coincidence.
What is your water set up like? They need a container deep enough to dip their nares in. What type of food are they eating? Notice anything in its nares?
Do you have pics or maybe take a video and upload to YouTube, vimeo, or FB.

The duckling seems a bit better today and I use a cool whip bowl since they have gotten bigger platter type thing under to help collect their water mess but he was the tiniest of them all and so I've always watched it a bit more then the rest when it comes to eating they also get a vitamin and electrolytes mix water mix as well in another container but it's not as big since it's more for drinking not dipping their head into. Oh and no I didn't see anything in her nose area but she doesn't dip her head as much as the others but will drink just as much. Their on a flock starter that has no meds in from my local country feed store.
