In search of….

Here they are!!!! I don’t have great pictures of the littles, I’m trying to let them settle in. I can get more tomorrow. There 2 White Calls, 2 silver duckling calls, 1 white duckling call (she only had one left) and 2 silver ducklings, and 2 either miniature appleyards ducks or they are snowy ducks (she was told snowy when she got the parents but is almost positive they are miniature appleyards because of their body shape), and one is a grey call.

Also the older ones were able to be sexed and we have a boy and girl out of both of the breeds. The younger ones are still too little obviously.

They're so adorable!!!! They're going to be GORGEOUS!!!! So happy for you!!!
:wee
Thank you!!!! One of the little silvers is having a hard time. She keeps calling and I think for momma. I spoke to the lady after and she said her momma’s (one being a chicken momma) have kept the babies inside there homes.

I can’t wait until they are a little more comfortable with me!

Only thing holding me back is how loud they can be. They aren't called Call ducks for nothing, lol! Probably one of the reasons I love my Muscovy so much. And their personalities. And their cute little tail wags. And the adorable trills the females make.

My daughter and I want to get some goats (next year, fingers crossed), and I've been bugging her about pigs, too. But we really need to get some buildings up before we can do that. Yes, we have ten acres, but when 9 of those are forest, makes it a bit harder to get all the critters! :D
We have forest, too. I have goats in the forest. It's perfect! We use electric netting and move them all around to clear blackberries and poison oak and ivy and low branches... We only have 4, but they can clear an acre in a couple of weeks! We built them a small shed (just 8x8) with a rain out. I really think forest is the way to go with goats.

Yes, doing some shrub clearing was one of the reasons for goats, as well as dairy. I've been researching all the skills of this wonderful creature. Next year... Cannot wait!

Soon, my signature tag is going to be just like yours! :D I really do wish I could do this full time.

You will not be sorry! They are a lot of fun! I was originally thinking of dairy, too, but I now can't stomach the idea of letting a stinky ol' buck violate my precious girls - lol! I'm such a weirdo... And I'd never be able to sell the babies. I'd end up with a bazillion goats.

We had some trees cleared in their area recently to appease the fire insurance company. And we lost a bunch in a storm at the end of last year, but you can see what our land looks like.

Before the goats, it looked like this - completely overgrown, unusable, and a major fire hazard:
