In the emergency of a natural disaster where do you move your chickens?

I’m just concerned that with the catastrophic fire conditions today someone may drop a cigarette or be doing some welding or they may loose the upper hand on most of the bushfires.

Like us you have a complete fire ban on. That means things like welding are verboten too. Bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted but we don't need any more fires either.

I heard about the fires in NSW this morning on the BBC radio, I will be praying for you and yours that the fire will not reach you. I was displaced by flooding after a hurricane last year for about a week and I felt so helpless. Hopefully everything will work out...

I'm hoping everyone stays safe and that they get this under control so this conversation is academic. My neighbor recently transported her entire flock half way across the US in stacked dog crates. MJ's comment about water is vital. Fill any jug you have with water and put it where you can to carry it along with feed ect... Do you know where you would evacuate to?

There were quite a few threads during the wild fires in California these last couple years, here's a few of them:

Thank you.

Stay safe today everyone! If you are in a threatened area please GET OUT EARLY we do not need to break the black Saturday fatality record. We are fortunate (?we're not but we are?) That there is absolutely no grass or fire fuel around us and dust will be our biggest issue today. So I'll be checking in for moral support today
Yes. I 100% totally agree. Australia has enough deadly legacy’s don’t need more

Ikr. The fire is now 45k’s away from me... there getting it under control. How are you all going with fires?
We have fires to the west, south & north of us ~ so lots & lots of smoke haze~ but none on the island itself, thank God!
