In the final stretch and have majorly messed up. Please Help.

It will be okay! Little chicks, in my experience, are much more hardy than people give them credit for. I do think moving the incubator to the bathroom would be a good idea though: wish my bathroom were big enough to do this myself...

Just a quick note to thank everyone who has replied. Been great not being completely alone through this. My friends and family totally don't get it. The kids are "Wow that's great mom... can we get a snack?" lol And I am just to excited to see baby chicks.

Seems I have made it into a real lock down state. Don't have to get in until Sunday night and may be able to push it to Monday morning. At last candle all but one of the eggs was moving around and the one that wasn't was so dark I couldn't see anything... Hence the question mark I drew on his shell (and he is really rocking). That makes 4 movers out of 7. Although it's still early and 3 are not as active as my mystery egg. lol Still have 11 eggs to get into the hatcher. Will never do this this way again. How did I miss gather and hold eggs to set? lol Huge mistake.

Well my fingers are crossed for you. I had amazing fertility/growth. I didn't lose a single one. 18 for 18. I was amazed. Guess that's why it is so nerve racking now. They made it this far. Now that they are rocking I can't bring myself not to look every ten seconds. This is so amazing. I don't want to miss a single thing.

On a side note... real estate will bounce back. Not for a while but hang in there. Clean air, ticks, blue skies, coyote, starry nights, nearest grocery store 45 minutes away is surely in your future. I grew up between New York and So. Florida and now reside in middle'o'nowhere So. Georgia lol Can't decide if I love it or hate it. Think the worst is there are no neighbors. My kids have no one to play with after school and weekends. Really stinks for them.

That's why I had four of them in 5 and a half years, so they'd have each other to play with! It's working nicely so far, too. The problem with being in the city is that the other kids who live on our street are kids I won't let mine play with! Hooligans in training.
If we lived in the country my kids would have their own animals to raise for 4-H and the place would be swarming with tadpoles and caterpillars. I was one of two growing up, and I'd have been in 7th heaven if I'd been out in the country with a bunch of animals.
Hubby just got me a new camera yesterday, so I'll put up hatching pics if you'll put up hatching pics.

There's a lockdown thread somewhere around here we could meet up on, too.

I am totally going to put up pictures, and will be looking for yours. Let me know what the lockdown thread is if you find it. I think my biggest wonder about this whole thing now is what they will look like. Here's our rooster's and a few over worked hens and the first 5 eggs to go into the incubator. Falcor and the ladies have 135 square feet between run and coop. Monkey has about 15. We let them roam free on alternating days and lock up our dogs.

This is Falcor... Proud papa. He is extremely agressive and dominant. Can't see his tail which is forrest green.

This is Monkey. He usually lives on our porch. He is also very agressive and dominant. Falcor and one of our other roosters that Falcor later killed tried to kill monkey at about 4 months. We removed him and made him a habitat out of 2 extra large dog cages. By the time slaughtering was to be done I couldn't do it. We moved him closer to the flock and will switch them this weekend. He is ginormous. Our lab can stand up in that cage. And that feeder is level with his feet. I am expecting good things from him (he's never been with a woman. lol)

Lastly... the eggs.
