Last week i got my morning steps in chasing after Lakota for 15 minutes trying to get his rotten behind back in the yard. Fun timesss 🫠
I habe had the same problem ever since a fox attacked one of my hens, I got an electric fence, but the ground is frozen solid, no way am I going to get fence posts in there, anyway, so I let out the chickens for an hr each day, every day, it gets harder to get the chickens back into their (30qm) coop 🙄 sometimes I am so frustrated I yell at them : ok, be a Happy meal for the fox 😡 of course I don’t do it and keep on chasing ( I tried bribery at first, but they got wise to my ways) til every one of them is in the coop, the rooster is the only chicken I am not so afraid for, he is the first one in the coop 🤪

Oh snap. Well hopefully you'll be able to get some posts in during summer if not sooner. I live in Florida you must be somewhere alot colder this time of year.
Yeah I was so close to being late dropping my kids off at school because he decided it was adventure time.
I totally get it. It's like that meme of the office working trowing his papers in the air like forget this carp and then he's like just kidding and picks them all back up only with us its chickens lol 😂😂😂

This is not an easy job, although if you dig further, the ground is frozen and usually hard only on top. Another thing is that if the frost outside is below -4 C, then it is much more difficult to concrete the pillars - the solution must either be heated, or special chemical additives must be added to it. Otherwise, the concrete will freeze before it hardens and then, when it thaws in the spring, it will simply crumble like sand. I remember I had to finish the concrete lintel near the goose barn, when winter had already begun - I had to fence everything off, hang it up, and work in the smoke, constantly burning some firewood in a barrel so that the temperature there did not fall below zero. It was not easy, the only consolation was that there was plenty of firewood here and it was free.
