Hello!

So I am hand turning some call duck eggs, but I will be going away for 2 days when my eggs are on day 14 of incubation, leaving next Friday. So could I put them in my automatic turner while I am away? If so should I place them in the turner now while they are on day 7 of incubation or better to put them in right before I leave on day 14 of their incubation? Or am I better of having somebody come over to continue hand turning them?

Thanks for your suggestions!

I am leaning towards putting them in the upright turner for the 2 days that I will be away. Sounds good???

I turn 3 times a day! If I remember I turn them more often!

Lol, that it not necessary, every 4-5 hour is plenty! If I turned them every hour, I would never sleep or leave my house!!!!

You put duck eggs upright in an automatic turner? I thought they don't grow well upright and need to be placed on their sides. I thought this was special for duck eggs. I have an automatic turner! Should I put the eggs in it?

no my turner isnt upright,

i have a brinsea mini advanced incubator that has a horizontal turner so the eggs turn on their sides. and yes id recommend only using a horizontal turner for duck eggs , not saying that there is anything wrong with using an upright turner im sure people have hatched ducks using those but i recommend haveing a horizontal turner
