Incubating eggs...Anyone want to join me

The place I got my wafer thermostat is at www.growerssollution.com. Paid $27 & some change for it.I'm getting a B/O next month.I won't be able to start my build till next month on my new incubator.Growers solution is out of TN.Omg them blue eggs is very hard to see into.I might have a blue egg fertile.But as I'm a beginner I can't tell yet so I'm leaving them all alone & see how many hatch.M temp since I put the thermostat in has been 99.6 & shuts off at 99.8.I haven't touched it since I installed it and it's been holding that temp.Hope everyone has 100% hatch.My eggs should be hatching on the 7/2/11.

ok, it has been 8 days now since i set the eggs; i candled this morning; out of the 5 eggs that were placed in the incubator 4 look good with chick inside. one never got off the ground so removed it. i love this little incubator (Brinsea mini advance).

Garydogwood, thats great that you got 4 out of 5.Omg it is so hot outside 98 without the heat index.Rained yesterday but only rained for about 30 min. but my garden is doing great. I put a 10 foot chain link fence around my chickens.Does anyone know why a chicken would start loosing all his feathers except for their wing feathers? Chickens are in the shade.

Well I Just candled 3 eggs and only seen movement in 1.And that is a brown egg.But they all look like something could happen in them but I guess only time will tell.Only brown egg has movement and 2 green eggs no movement.But as long as I got 1 means I'm doing it right.

I'm almost in tears. I lost power this morning. about an hour and a half. I took the bator with it's 24 eggs to a friend's house that still had power. The temp had dropped to 87 degrees. I'm waiting for it to come up before bringing them back. I candled this weekend and there were signs of life. Do you think they might have been able to survive? When should I candle again to see if there's still life inside? I'm almost afraid to candle again anyway. This was my first hatch. I want to cry.

Don't give up. I have had that happen. Last winter on our coldest night we lost power. It was around 2 weeks into incubation. The power had already been off for a couple of hours when I discovered the power was off, my incubator temp was 78 degrees. Luckily I had a battery pack and an inverter. I plugged the incubator into it and got the temp back up. After a couple of more hrs the power came back on. I candled the eggs and saw movement. I still had a good hatch.

What a relief. I think if I incubate again I'm goign to have to get something like the battery. If nothing else it will be peace of mind. Thanks for responding so quickly.

You can look on ebay cause sometimes you can get them cheap on there like I did before.
