Guh, now the Maran is sick. Opened a thread, since her behavior is much different from how Baby was and I'm over my head.

I'd like to say I'll work for beer, but I'm a little sunburnt from weeding four 30' rows of onions yesterday.
My father-in-law gave me the idea once of planting pumpkins with the sweet corn. Worked great, big pumpkin leaves drowned out the weeds, both grew GREAT!
I'll never do it again, it was extremely difficult picking the corn which was ready early and not damaging the pumpkin vines that still needed more time, there was vines everywhere. ...
I'm sure this isn't a revolutionary new idea, but I don't recall ever seeing it mentioned here before.:
For anyone with a factory-made brooder with a slide-out poop tray, try lining the tray with paper of some sort. Newspaper should work fine, but I don't get a newspaper, so I used regular brown paper from DW's supply that she uses on her loom.
When it's time to clean the tray, just roll up the paper & toss it. Sure beats standing there trying to get the tray clean with a garden hose & putty knife.
If you already know this trick, don't bother reading this post.
When they are set to hatch, the temperature can actually be lowered. So, there is no need to worry about the temp being the same.
THX andWhat MC said. You can leave the thermo where it is. Studys have shown that a slightly lower hatching temp can aid in hatching.
