first JG has hatched! Now what is it should do for the yolk sac it's still absorbing, it's huge. Not had this happen before and I am a tiny bit panicked! See brain overload!

Oh no, is that really the yolk? If it is, I think you need to move it to a cup with a paper towel or something soft. @Sally Sunshine Help! -Kathy

I have no idea how to treat this... maybe take it out and apply pressure with a sterile gauze or telfa pad until bleeding stops? -Kathy

Looks like yoke sac has torn. I see yoke and blood. Chick is peeping and moving yet.

I'm here...barely. Way to busy and rather stressed. My extremely insightful boss has told me that I don't have stress in my life. I need to refer to it as excitement. He has a beautiful attitude that I need to adopt some of....So...I am having an exciting time. I little less excitement would be good though.

Had a horse with colic yesterday. Had a horse return from AZ, picked up my stallion from the breeding farm where he's been for two months, and inherited another mini horse. I was totally at my limit with horse numbers before these came in. Then I complain and one gets sick, then I'm afraid I'll lose one....

I'm a crazy bird lady and horse lady.

I have chicken and duck news, but want to include pictures, so I'll have to do it later. No cell phone service here, so I don't have a smart phone.....have to do things the slower way. Camera and computer.

That is the second attack, in the morning a 13 years old, beutiful girl, and a gifted dancer, was stub to deth in her bed by a 19 yeras old Palestinian that enterd her home .

I don't think anyone was as tired as me.I left Tuesday with my brother and we drove strait through to Georgia and straight back yesterday and got back at three this morning.a ten hour drive

I got almost all of the meat into the freezer! For supper, I am going to make a brownie sundae.

The brownies are baking now. Just chocolate, Chaos. Nothing else!

I plan on doing the same, want to do the blood draws for NPIP too, and fit a few day trips in for the kiddos. I hope you enjoy finishing the projects up, I love doing stuff like that, I would rather do that then go to the beach other than fishing, that I could do much more often, if the lakes were free of people, so fall and spring are fishing times, the rest is hermit time for me lol

I doubt my shipment was on THAT train, I think it is just the train service has been interrupted for ALL trains. I'm still amazed that I didn't see anything on the news and even internet news is slow. It was 2 trains that collided, not just a derailment. It was a west bound freight train heading to Los Angeles and an east bound freight train going to Chicago. 2 man crews on each train. 1 guy jumped before the crash, the other 3 are missing, presumed dead. It created a huge fireball. This happened Tuesday and it is still burning today.

Oh, how awful! Those poor people!

I'm sorry you are having trouble. Make sure the paper towel is damp, otherwise they stick. I find that every time I've tried to put them in a cup, they have jumped out or others have jumped in. I can't say anything about the bleeding though.

I personally have never had any survive more than a few days when they start out so weak. I have had lingering umbilical cords that get stuck. I just had one that was my first to hatch and I didn't want to open the bator and he was stuck to the side of the bator, to another egg, and to the floor mat I had down, when I finally did open it. I unstuck him, gave him a bath and put him back in. He's about 10 days old now and doing great.

So, yours might have a chance!!

Help!!! New to chicks and incubation. Bought a cheaper incubator and put 4 of my new serama chick eggs in there with little hope and now on the 19th day I am hearing "peeping" I opened it heard it and shut it fast! i have 3 other viable previously candled eggs in there. I don't have damp paper towel in there-just the plastic mesh floor. Once the first chick hatches what do I do??? how long can I leave it in there to see if another hatches, do I put in damp paper towels now..... I am so lost-I wasn't ready for this to actually work!!! iIt doesnt have a clear viewing window either-I have to peak from the side to see anything...... Ugh!!!! HELP!!!
