Oh cool! I guess I should have figured, reptiles are even MORE finicky about temps than chickens. XD

Exactly! Just sounds weird comparing reptiles to chickens though, lol... I really love the Reptibator though for storing eggs for hatching... it sets for cooling as well, but not as cold as a fridge and keeps perfect temp... :D

Yes, I am shamelessly enabling here... :gig

You can try just putting them on reg. chick feed, see how they do.  I really don't have them on the medicated very long..some folks don't like using it at all..for other reasons than runny poo.   They just don't like medicating.

I'll have to buy some! I actually thought I'd read and decided non medicated but then I don't know, it made sense to make sure they didn't get diseased. I don't know. Will try non medicated though

Haha it's okay, it's great for me to have options! I think we actually have the Reptibator here, I'll check our normal exotic pet store and see. We have corn snakes so we go there often.

Quick update on the coop situation since the husband will be home soon and able to help me: the weather forecast lied to me, the sun shines and I got my pallets measured out. I'm allotted two 3 meter by 1.2 meter pallets by my husband, which are both very heavy solid wood with no cracks and very minimal splintering. I measured out the length and marked the cuts before doing ANY breakdown, and when we break them down we'll remeasure before we cut the final lengths. I'm aiming for a footprint of 1x2 meters.

In all the pallets I've been given will give me the floor, the tallest wall, and an extra two meters of material that I can put toward the sloped sides.

I have not gotten into it. I hatched out some, I still have to see if they lay grey.

I see. I hope they lay gray for you. :fl

Be careful! I caught Seramaitis from @Sally Sunshine
and 10 jumped into my bator earlier this week!

BTW @Sally Sunshine
could you post a picture of your Serama?  I am curious as to what they look like!
I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant this to happen!!!!

Me too! :D

I was cleaning my incubator, you'd think I let a rat loose in there! Fluff everywhere! Shells and poop... All in the fans, behind that plastic top... I cleaned everything! Though now the incubator looks clean with the occasional fluff.

HELP My little serama Chick (who I hatched as part of the halloween hatch along, so is almost two weeks old) Is getting pasty butt. she had it a few days ago and I just used warm water and paper towels to clean the poop off but I don't know what to do, it keeps happening. If it helps the chick is a singleton so maybe its stress?
Could be stress. I'd get it on a bit of (chick) grit, a plug of sod from your yard (be sure it's not been treated with insect/herbicides) and start some fermented feed.

I can see who is on and posting so I dont need to comment or panic that I am needed to help anyone so I can take my time doing an update
