Wait! Runny poo can be the food!? So glad I joined this thread because some.of mine have been runny or large quantity of poo! I had one.die of.pasty butt a day shy of 1 week and.one the day or two after had a small piece of.poo stuck to it's bum but not pasty butt and it came off quickly and.otherwise healthy. All others have been healthy, even thriving. This has confused me because everything I've seen says runny poo means they are UNHEALTHY and I was worried they had some disease but again all act healthy. I had no idea it could be food. It is kind of bad food though anyway I think. Just Agway brand and, of course, medicated. The guy said people usually feed it until 8 weeks but I think ours is starter/grower and recommends 16 weeks. I want them to not get sick but I also don't want them to feel yuck. But they all fly and act healthy so maybe it doesn't affect them. But 6 more weeks seems like a long time (8 total, 2 weeks old now). Should I take them off it? I don't want them sick though. But so glad it could just be feed because I thought they were too warm and was worried haha

You can try just putting them on reg. chick feed, see how they do. I really don't have them on the medicated very long..some folks don't like using it at all..for other reasons than runny poo. They just don't like medicating.

I candled last night, all 5 that started are thriving. :) Hoping to get another white like I lost in my last hatch of these.

GET TO IT WOMAN!!! Cant wait to see the build!!! are you gonna put it in a article to show others??? shhhhaaaweeeettt!!! enter it in a coop contest if they have one goin!

I might! I'll be taking photos throughout, the lean-to instructions I'm using say it's a weekend project (which means about a weeklong for me and the husband) and it's going to be up on bricks instead of being built high.

I'm making myself stop. Tell me to stop.

My dang quail lay about 3/4 eggs a day. I gathered up 15 over 7 days, and put them in the incubator Monday. Since then, every time they lay, I slip it in the incubator.

I'm stopping now. No more go in the incubator. I swear. Really.

This is bad. This is bad right? I'm stopping.

Is it bad? ..........Nah.

Just wanted to share this with everyone. I made it for my first hatch because I heard that chicks hatch better if they hear chicken noises. Hahahah

Chicken Clucking Playlist
This is weirdly soothing. Why is it soothing??

Hey, @hippiestink you said there was reptile incubators in your area but not chicken ones? You do know those can be used for chicken eggs too, right? j/s... :D ;)

Yeah but I was worried they would be either too hot or too cold. I guess if I get me some help from here it would be worth a shot right?

Heck yeah!! Actually, reptile bators are just made to have a wider range in set temps... you still set it at the temp you want, but it has the ability to be cooler or warmer if needed... if you can, just post up ones you find and ask opinions... I have a Reptibator6000 but just haven't had to use it... yet... :gig

@Cynthia12
You trying for another white silkie? Sorry you lost the little white one last time. Where are you located? What other colors did you get again. I hope you get your white one. :) I got three and I may have a spare ;)

Oh cool! I guess I should have figured, reptiles are even MORE finicky about temps than chickens. XD
