HELP My little serama Chick (who I hatched as part of the halloween hatch along, so is almost two weeks old) Is getting pasty butt. she had it a few days ago and I just used warm water and paper towels to clean the poop off but I don't know what to do, it keeps happening. If it helps the chick is a singleton so maybe its stress?
If one keeps getting pasty butt, I usually trim the feathers below it's little bum. :)

I am one that doesn't keep chicks on the medicated food for long, especially if they have runny poo. I find it is a problem in some of my hatched ones. Not all of them, but some, and always the same chick feed. I just start giving them reg. chick feed, and the runnies go away.

Help!!!

I candles today...day 7....and had 25 fertile good eggs. BUT I accidentally spun some when marking the air sack TO THE POINT THEY WERE SPINNING INSIDE THE SHELL. I didn't mean to and I was so "in the zone" on my air sack marking that I didn't notice! Chase said he saw it on 5 eggs but didn't want to hurt my feelings or step on my toes and tell me...ughhhh whyyy didn't he tell me?!?! Are these 5 definitely going to die????

One of my Lav Orps had pasty butt for a while. She was my problem chick when she hatched. I gave her a bath, that was fun, I think she liked it. Lasted for a few weeks, now I notice her bum is messy again. Just her, so its odd. All the others are fine. Guess she's getting another bath this weekend, maybe trim some feathers. Any other suggestions?

Noo, no yogurt. Just trim the bum then. If it isn't runny poo, don't worry, just have to watch it. Some just get it worse. They are little fluffy butts after all.

They should be fine. Don't candle again for a while..let those heads settle.
