I love the balance of country/farm life, with amenities nearby, including high speed internet. I can't live with out cable internet.
My attitude on the subject is likely from my childhood. I grew up in the city while at the same time we had a farm in the middle of nowhere and a suburban farm.
So I spent lots of time walking the woods, fields and streams with my dogs and working with cattle, horses and hogs. I also appreciated the zoo, botanical garden, museums, good stores, being minutes from an international airport are pretty good amenities. Many others will disagree but I never wanted to live in a small town. If no amenities, I wanted to be on a farm or in the woods where no one tells you what to do or how to live. Small towns tend to be a little restrictive.
93 of the 100 largest cities in the US allow chickens. The majority of smaller towns and cities disallow them.
lol, i even delete a bunch when i read that they've been answered
I end up doing that too.
O's are making a serious run at it; I just hope they don't falter. They haven't been very consistent lately, and they can't afford to lose any; Eastern division race is too close. They're #1 for the WC now. hope they can hold it. Today & tomorrow will tell the tale.
I've been following the O's progress. Anything can happen. The 2006 Cardinals finished the season at 83-78 winning only 34 games on the road but that was still enough to win the NL Central. Then they beat the Padres in 4 games, Mets in 7 and beat the Tigers 4 games to 1 for their 10th world series title.
2011 was even more amazing. They were 67-63 in late August and 8 1/2 games out in their division on September 7. They were 10 1/2 games out of the wild card race at the end of August. Then they made their move in September. With 2 games left in the season, they were 1 game out of the wildcard. (same as this year) They clinched the 2nd wild card spot on the last day of the season. That was the largest comeback in history. While the Braves collapsed in September, the Cards went 23–9 over their final 32 games to erase a 10 1/2 game deficit. They won the one game playoff, beat the Phillies in the NLDS, beat the Brewers in the NLCS and beat Texas in the World Series.
They set two records in Game 6. The first team to come back twice from deficits in both the 9th and 10th innings, and the first team to score in the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th innings. Sloppy but one of the most suspenseful WS games. Down to their last strike in the 9th, 10th and 11th to win and then took game 7.
At least watch from the 3:30 mark.
Don't know if the magic will return this year. They're down 3-0 to the Pirates in the 4th inning.
Creosote from the chimney is supposed to keep bugs & such out, too. The snakes & stink bugs never got the memo here, though.
