This is one of my black star's egg on day 10. I think the reason they look so dark at this point is that I'm not using a very bright candler. Not sure what you're using to candle but that could explain it for your eggs too.

Did your dad get the hawk that was coming around?

I have been updating the links and notable links and information in the 2nd post from the original post in the thread @chicken hawk 33 post #2 that is post number 2 so you can find all those links and info we keep throwing at everyone to help, candle links, videos, and all that..... and I keep updating as we go! at least until I cant update it there anymore, it lets you for so many days and then it locks that post. remember their is that candling info in there and so forth too....

No,he didn't.I'm using the bright led from my phone the veins have go ten bigger and the baby's have grown a lot but yes my eggs is steel per th clear, like the whole pointed end is.

yes and how dark your egg shells are, like marans and my ccl some of the smaller eggs are very dark I can only see a vein or two at the top when my flashlight batteries need a recharge @chicken hawk 33

Even my dark production red eggs are clear, not like clear no veins but nor dark.It must just be my flashlight.there are veins all over though now.21 baby's are moving like crazy last night when I candled them.

Here is my SBEL(right)... Since it's a cross between a legion and EE most likely, does that mean it could be wing sexed? I checked when it was a day old and it had long feathers like a female.

Also, why does it appear to have 'angel wing'?

I can't wait to set eggs, it's too hard to wait for spring!!!!! I'll be hatching my own crosses, silkie or sultan over EE or maybe black sexlink or OEGB. I'll just have to do a few of each!!!

I'm hatching 1st eggs now and upto now 7 out of 12 and still 2 to go, 3 were infertile
