All I want to do today is sit on my couch with a fire in the fireplace and catch up with all y'all. Snow was on the ground this morning. I have to address quite a few family issues right now (sick kids, and getting my dad to a funeral for his sister). I'm stressed, but it will all work out.
MacGyver Bator update: I have one thermometer calibrated so I will compare it to the others. Next tests will be humidity holding and turning eggs instead of golf balls, and I will do those tonight.
Snow in NY...that's too danged close! Keep it up there, if you don't mind.

I was just thinking, I wonder what a sultan \ EE will look like! Maybe crested? Any guesses?

maybe a blue egg laying sultan with yellow on its featheres?

(Hey, there should be a guess that cross thread!)

no clue!

Everything is pretty upside down on our side of the Atlantic. Husband considered sending me home to Texas and he's talking about possibly getting a firearm. Pray for Paris and pray for Europe.

My heart goes out to everyone over there. So very sad and scary. Definitely praying for Paris and Europe. ♡

As far as my update goes:

Of the 10 Araucanas, 6 are developing! :celebrate I marked their cells and left them be. 3 were clears, 1 was an early quitter.

Of the Marans eggs, 4 I could see definite veining, the rest were too dark to see w/o meddling too much. Put them on the turner tonight.

Also, all of 5 min after putting the 3 in lockdown, boy were they a rockin'! :jumpy

Good to hear, thanks for keeping us updated :)

I hope to work on my winter water system today and get some leaves raked into the runs for the birds.

FYI, that 104 gram chicken egg was just a double-yolk (I thought it might be a triple) but the 2 yolks were huge!
