INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

Well,I just candles three of them a minute ago baby's are steel alive,big air cells,but still can see three the pointed end of egg.

They sound like they are doing well chicken hawk!

Not supposed to see through pointed end after day 16, may be a bit behind but still hatch.

guess what I did, I candled the dumb serama eggs, and twisted the light bulbs off to candle and forgot to twist them in again.  Never doing that again, is a bad habit to start.  

this time, it was all day, cause I forgot to turn the eggs at lunch  them little suckers have nottachance if any are fertile.  I left them in just in case. but most are clears.

but now I will have clears and four blood rings.... I swear I am going brain dead on all this crap they pumped in me....  I am going to need something to clean the toxins out to clean my brain.

I didn't see this post earlier, sorry!! Dangit, that sucks! Ugh, it's awful that the things to help us also hinder us as well... do you have an old style annoying egg timer? When you candle, set it for just a bit past the time it takes to candle... tape a note to it saying "Let There Be Light!" or anything to remind you to twist those babies back on... just a tip, but sometimes those little things help... :/

Well crap. I'm at day 6, and I just candled my 20 quail eggs, and all but 4 are clear. I used my phone flashlight, and they glow green, which is kinda neat, unless it means they're rotten!! Lol

Anyways, only 4 have a solid look to the end, the other 14 were clear. I also had two that cracked from the turner, I guess.

I was going to set them in egg cartons, but the dang eggs are just to small, and fall over to the side. So I cut a strip of foam off the egg carton and lined one side with it.

I returned all 18 eggs to the incubator, but I'm guessing there's no hope for the clears, right?

Argh. So frustrating, my husband thought it was zipping, but it just made a larger hole. But I am concerned because the membrane looks like it is starting to dry out and turn yellow. I will be going to bed in a few minutes, the baby is still cheeping away. I hope it will be out by morning so I don't have to worry.

ETA: Humidity is at 72% currently, hasn't dropped below 68%, so it shouldn't be drying out so early... right?? It's only been pipped for ~6 hours....

How's this little one going? I've noticed the membrane turning yellow around the holes on several of my eggs and they've always hatched fine. Hope this chickie gets out.



Still no sign of a hatch here. Day 22 now. I candled one egg quickly yesterday and it was moving, but there was no signs of a pip. I've never had eggs hatch so late before. There was ONE period where the electricity went off for about 20 minutes during incubation, but that shouldn't make a massive difference should it? I don't want to open the bater and candle again yet - I'm just desperate for some signs of life!

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Do you think mine are ok? During the night, after I upped the water and humidity for lockdown, the temp dropped to 98.5... Probably all night... I candled last night... Should I candle tonight and check on them? It's day 19.

I am sure they are, my postpone for a few hours in the end thats all, mine were down to room temp and who knows how long, that bator isnt a coleman its a cheapo no insulation in the lid, even though I tried to use that spray foam in it before I put the plexi in it, so I am sure the rest of it hardly has any in it either. so your fine!

Omg Sally, I love this!! The saloon idea is adorable, great pics, perfectly awesome! And thanks for the credit on the fan.

And I also hate those barrel latches on doors. I'm changing all mine out too. PITA's they are!

It doesnt, we only have one toilet on main floor ranch so he is always running out front or back. plus being in mnts it happens cause it dont really matter

Is that not the primary purpose of a porch?
