That has got to be the most irresponsible thing I have ever heard and that is alot coming from someone who let a broodie have eggs thinking they would abandon them.
Did you know you wouldnt be home to care for chicks when you planned the hatch? Or were you just going to see if they could fend for themselves?
I have learned a lot from these kind people in just a couple of days how is it you ask the question and ignore the answer?

Good morning, hatchaholics! I spent last night at the emergency vet. My suster's dog bit mine in the eye. Purely accidental. But eight years ago her last dog bit my last dog in the eye. That dog had an idiot for a vet and went blind. This time around I know that won't be happening.

I'm behind..how is the sweetheart doing this morning? Maybe you already posted..may not see it..I am one to..skip to my Lou...posts.

He's a little off still. He is on pain killers. Maybe it's from that. He just ate his food, so that is good! No puking or accidents. I just might have to find the E-collar. He's scratching at his eye.

Good morning everyone! Happy Boxing day! I hear chirping louder than the fan!!! Still no pipping, but I know they are alive!

Can everyone remember their very first hatch? Is it always this scary? Or does it get easier?

I can imagine that it itches..or it's just bothering him. You may want to find that collar..he can cause an infection for sure.

Can't remember the 1st; it was 30 years ago; only been one since, though. I hear it gets easier, for some of us, anyway.
