You may have an early bird that will call out for its friends to join it. This has happened to me during each of my 3 hatches. The early birds pipped and hatched on Day 20, even when I watched the incubator ALL DAY LONG on day 19. And Day 20. And 21...

How early can they pip

I've had chicks pip on day nineteen and hatch on day twenty .also have had chicks pip on day eighteen but not hatch yoke not absorbed . twenty one days is the norm. I have collage text books that say they can hatch up to twenty five days .
