Closest I've ever been to them is in vet clinics over the years. A few folks had them as pets

I actually assisted with a spay on one of those big cats. I think the owners should have been spayed and neutered as well. Lol.

I just can't wrap my mind around keeping a dangerous animal as a pet, even if it's been bottle-fed and raised as a pet since birth. They still have the capability of turning on their handler without provocation. Just ask Siegfreid & Roy! Even a chimp can do a number on a human. No thanks, I'll pass.

I know a guy who runs a petting zoo. He used to have a whitetail buck he'd had since it was a fawn. One day, probably during the rut, the buck mauled him bad; tore the guy up pretty good.

I stay off the roads as much as possible. When I do drive, I drive a truck, complete with a 2" trailer ball; I dare someone to rear-end me. My truck is an '05, with 57,800 miles on it, if that tells you anything.

Does that make it easier to get it stuck in the mud?
