I just can't wrap my mind around keeping a dangerous animal as a pet, even if it's been bottle-fed and raised as a pet since birth. They still have the capability of turning on their handler without provocation. Just ask Siegfreid & Roy!  Even a chimp can do a number on a human. No thanks, I'll pass.

Agree 100% with you. I've seen it firsthand over the years. It's amazing to me how many people have wild pets. We would have to go full hazmat style protective wear when a chimp would come in to clinic. Those little buggers are scary!!
One thing I'll never forget is a woman who was raising a brown bear. It got to about 200 lbs and pinned her against a fence. She brought it in to have all its teeth and nails removed. Hands down the most unethical procedure I've seen done. I felt terrible for that bear. I have no sympathy for adults who get attacked by their own wild "pets".

I won't keep anything wild as a pet. I did find an endangered turtle in my dog's mouth once... I relocated it to a nice nearby stream.

If it was born in the wild, the wild is where it belongs IMO.

Gotta feel sorry for the animals. Not only are they deprived of doing what's natural for them, but when their owners can't handle them any longer, they can't even be released into the wild; they don't know how to survive on their own. As a result, they're put down or sent to a zoo!
All because some fool had to have a 'designer' pet

Wonder why the "guests" seldom want to come out & play with the "members"
'Spose they're intimidated, or just want to see what makes this the most active thread on BYC?

Although there are a few of us with eggs set now, right? Let's see... Sally, Saris, Gimme, and myself. I'm sure there are several more!

Maybe we need a chicken related update?

I can understand that

Maybe there should be a warning on page 2 that they may, from time to time, on rare occasions. have to backtrack a few pages to find anything chicken-related.
