Last night I left my door open for about 2 minutes while I went to get water and my cats killed one of my serama chicks. I have the one little guy left. He loves attention and I am getting him a Cochin friend from the feed store tomorrow. It is unfortunate what happened, but I am glad that one survived.
@Sally Sunshine
@TJChickens
so sorry... I just hate when anything bad happens to the little guys. : hugs

@Sally Sunshine I candled again and Some of them have bigger aircells, and some don't......ugh, I also saw the start of at least 4 bloodrings. I'm so sad! They had to have passed all around the same time....I can still pick out veins but you can see the blood smearing down the side and pooling.

Leave them in there until day 14 at least! I thought that was what was happening for a lot of my eggs, but it wasn't a blood ring at that stage, it is the chicks getting bigger/more blood circulating in there. My ducks are looking the same way, but the embryo is moving!

I plan too, but there was no movement.

Hi, two of my partridge wyanndotte chicks hatched over 4 hours ago and neither of them have dried up yet. I only have 1 incubator with the tempreture at 99.5 and humidity at 75%. One of the remaining eggs has pipped so I am nervous to open the incubator. This is my first hatch and I'm nervous about doing things wrong.:/

The humidity does not have to be that high so if it drops a bit that is totally fine. The chicks that hatched 4 hours ago will dry eventually even with such high humidity, so I would leave them till they have fluffed up, and/or the last egg hatches.

Mine were taking forever to dry too. It'll happen. Once they're out, they can dry in the brooder. Or, you can dry them a bit yourself.
