I found a Cockerel wedged between the duck box and the other wall. I don't think there is anything wrong with his wings, but either one or both legs are injured. He could have been there a few hours, or he could have been there since yesterday. I did not think to feel his crop to find out if he had a eaten lately. He has food and water within easy reach, but far enough away to not have to lay his head in it.
400

I am not sure what picture to take, or what things to do. If anyone has an idea of what I need to do to diagnose him, please let me know. For now, he is in sick bay and I'm hoping that his legs are just numb.

DUCK ASSISTS YOU can possibly tell if your chick/duck is ready to hatch via candling......

First two candles below..... this yolk is not yet absorbed, duck egg you can see the color of it and you cant see much definition of the chick/duck inside

CANDLES BELOW you can see this Duck can be assisted via candle. compare above with below images
ALSO NOTING TIME FRAME and That this duck was chirping like mad as well....

This navel closed within 10 minutes looks larger in images than it was.

Awesome pictures!

Don't want to scare you, but was he vaccinated for Marek's?

Hi Sally Mike and everyone else.

@Sally Sunshine Normally the ventilation is good, but I have the coop all locked up like a brooder except the upper vents that don't close because they are not all feathered so they supposedly need a heat source, but I am afraid since it got hotter than it was supposed to get. In thses temperatures with that many of them, do they really need the heat of a bulb?
Of course not today, in fact since it is closed and on I am worried.
Do they need it at all with that many of them and the lows projected to high 30's?
Even when using heat lamps in the coop you need to have it very very well ventilated, what happens is without the air the heat draws too much moisture and even though its warmer the moisture can harm the birds and even cause excessive fron

Could use some wise eyes. First try at incubating goose eggs. Been turning 5 times a day, temp at 37.5C, humidity between 55-65%, at day 5 started misting and cooling for 5 mins a day.

At day 10 today, and candled. One looks like I expected - veins are visible. 2 look like nothing (although shells on those two are SUPER thick) and 3 look like this:

I can see faint veins in the dark area, but they are like divided in 1/2...dark on one side, light on the other. Is this normal? Are they bad...even with the faint veining?
not sure, you should see veining, that looks like yolk, I would keep it in if it doesnt stink and sniff once a day and recandle to be sure its died or empty

They say we'll hit 85 today, but drop to the high 60's the rest of the week.  Our low all week is 48.

Our highs aren't gonna be that....
The temperatures here fluctuate a lot. I have seen days start at seventy and end in the single digits with an ice storm. It has not been this hot, and is supposed to drop back closer to normal near sixty with close to freezing nights. It has been warm and cold up and down.

Spring weather.....

Hi Phil! You can keep that snow up there please.

I'll do my best
Sally made me... :hit
Dawww! :love
Oh dear, stay safe! :hugs :fl

:gig it's only snow bubbles but I'm pretty :sick of it....
