yep it does, think gonna leave the brooding to the hens in the spring or have to get different incubator, this one has given me nothing but trouble even having the circulating air

Thanks

Should I worry?

During the night had a temp spike in the LG deluxe of 106, not sure what caused that, was up to 4 hours since I'd last checked it. Eggs are on day 7 of incubation with humidity running 46-50

Not much you can do now but wait and candle in a few days, Good luck and I hope they survive! Are you marking your air cells since your humidity seems a bit high?

True delawares are pretty rare..

And even alot breeders are having trouble with color. So the more people involved would help to save them.

There pretty too..
I will have to look them up then!

With so many people talking here, I can't remember what I say!!!

Hi slordaz!! worry is senseless, you cant take it away... you can only move forward and try not to let it happen again.... I just had the same thing happen but for much longer time. four hours may not have caused too much damage. you will have to wait and see... here is some info if you want to read it??? also have you calibrated thermometers and hygrometers and are aware that humidity is not a set number that you have to weight eggs or watch air cells for the correct weight loss in the eggs? If you need more information on this please ask and we can help you understand more of this as well! thats what we are here for! and you have plenty of time for fixing!

One of my chicks isn't drying after 8 hours now. Should I take it out and wipe it off and put back in or leave until I out it in the brooder?

you should have opened that little hole into them through the membrane not taken the outer shell off

I didn't want to cut into the membrane without knowing if I was going to sever a blood vessel. I didn't intend for the holes to get that big, but the shells are rather brittle and flaky. You told me what I shouldn't have done, which is great information for future reference, but the question remains... should I (now) make a hole in the membrane? I think the chicks would like to take a nice breath of air... but I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. Help... pweeese???
