I wish I never would have messed with her. Thebleeding probably would have healed on its own. It was a hernia, not yolk. She died before I even finished mixing the booster water, she cried the whole time she was dying. I feel so sick
Don't be so hard on yourself... you did everything you could to save her. The bleeding may have stopped, it may not have. We'll never know for certain, and if she had a bad hernia, who's to say she wouldn't have died from an infection? Things happen for a reason, and her dying was meant to be. That's the way it is, and will always be. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and enjoy what you still have.

I'm so sorry! But, you did everything you could to help her. Something similar happened to me a few weeks ago.

any chance she went Broody earlier than you thought ? watch and wait its warm enough there the eggs will keep for a while . so watch and wait is all you can do . did you but the balls back in the nest?
what u mean it's warm enough..and yes I added about ten ping pong balls with the eggs.

Link to the article I am asking everyone to give me info to add: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/incubating-w-friends-helpful-notes-links-informational-post-links
The kind of info I want is stuff like 'bator kind, current eggs setting, if incubating now, and random stuff you want others to know! IF YOU HAVE GIVEN ME INFO BUT DON'T SEE IT ADDED, sorry but please tell me again if you want it in there! sorry, I haven't gotten into the sync fully yet... Thanks so much everyone!!

It's been aggravating. Those could be big sellers, but I hate tying my incubator up for that long with a 50% hatch rate. Like I said, though, my last two were 75 and 80%. I'm also wondering if it's not a flock issue. I bought them before I learned enough, and they are bred badly. There are a bunch of threads on BYC about how tough BCM are to hatch, so I feel like 75% or better is an achievement

I have been battling BCMs myself. I got 3 of 7. 0 of 12. and 5 of 15. It's been crazy. I finally got eggs from another breeder and put 29 of 30 in lockdown today. Deaths have been either late stage or weeping right after being set. Air cells were a mess, rolling, on a lot of the shipped eggs. I just wanted a good start so I could hatch my own!

You can leave them and hope that she returns to the nest, or you can remove them, and break her broodiness.  You'll be doing the NYD HAL anyways, yes?  So, maybe good to not invest in an other hatch between now and then.

Or, you can do an experiment with them.  Save them and set them with the NYD HAL eggs.  Eggs in early incubation can go into animated state if held in cool temps.

In your case, perhaps you need to duct tape your hands to the UNDER SIDE of the chair you're sitting on.

IKR!!!!! I will be good....just for Sally.
