INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

I feel like I'm seriously gonna die. I woke up, looked at my incubator, and the lid was popped off to the left three inches. The eggs are cold, though I know it's the embryo that matters, but I JUST noticed. Not like that last night at 3:00 am, it's 10 am now.... So, who thinks they're dead? I'll candle in a couple hours when the egg temp regulates.

Any ideas on how the lid got open? I have hope for the eggies, I would try and get them warmed up.

Ive got a hard time keeping up with posts bc ive only got the internet on my phone and its not the greatest. Are they chicken eggs? Ducks? How far into incu are you?

So I got a leghorn from a local feed store in the spring. But, she has green earlobes? Does this mean she will lay green eggs?

Hmm. It might not be a Leghorn. My guess is that she's a White Plymoth Rock. Leghorns don't have the green earlobes. The green is just a tinting of white, when it gets thin.

I mean, the lid was open, so it was cold in there, but the temp said 72 when I looked at it.

I had mine drop down to 78 my last hatch for god knows how long and some still hatched with all my other problems so I think there is still a chance

I have hope too. I'm on day 10, these are chickens. They are warming up in the incubator right now.

Maybe it just slowed their heart rates down, like when people fall into cold water. And like fish who winter over under the frozen ponds?

I know that a broody hen can stay off the eggs for up to half an hour, and I think this is the same. I'm guessing they are dead, but I have hope.

How far along are they?

Probably brown. Could you post a pic of her so I can see her body style? Then I will know if she's a leghorn or a White Rock.
