Calendars are useful tools, too easily forgotten in the digital age of "turn on phone and check".... I always have a paper calendar, and this year it is the BYC one!

Where did you get the BYC one? I want one!!!

Great news! Now you definitely won't have a 'loner' to worry about.
Good morning to all! Just caught up, and now time for more coffe and an omelet!
Gotta check up on granny and send some sketches.
Good morning, CC!

Sorry I had to bug out on granny's bator plans last night. I can conjure up ideas in my head, but putting them on paper or into words eludes me.

LOL I know, but some people really are a bit worse with having to know exactly when they should expect pips chicks etc
Why not just come out and say it? Some people are OBSESSED with having to know exactly when they should expect pips, chicks, etc.! There's only one problem with those "precise calculations"... and it's the chicks!!!

Figure out your hatch times

Hatch / Egg Turning Chart

I can tell you, I've always counted the following day as day 1. Never seen that link you posted but it counts set day as day 1. Which is wrong in my opinion. 21 days is guideline. Some come early, some come late and some just don't come at all.
I don't know what's correct, but I count the day I set as day zero. :idunno -Kathy

I'll remember not to be obsessed about pip timing....

I just thought of something, when I first came here, i didn't know the diffierence between a pip and a zip, and that 24 hours from pip to hatch was normal!

Thanks to Sally's awesome articles, and everybody's help, now i can be fairly confident of not killing any chicks I hatch!

Good morning-

I like the hatching app for taking notes. That way I can look back and see my temps, humidity results, etc so I can make changes for future hatches. I use hatchabatch.

Just have to remember that the days are always one off though.

Good after noon everyone sally what do you mean buy getting quail for your rabbit pen as in under it to clean up the bunny mess? I was just wondering because I want quail in the spring but I want my set up as efficient as possible also did anyone else have an aggressive day old chick before and how did you deal with it
