Ivermectin injectable is my choice for externals see below, I am OCD with my gang never want to deal with them so we are on a tough preventative schedule.


Do 2 applications 4-6 weeks apart.

( Ivermectin 1%) liquid cattle wormer, brand name Eprinex is most often found. Chemical class is Ivermectin.

1.) 1/2 cc of the liquid topically on the skin for an adult chicken.
2.) 1/4 cc bantam
3.) 1 cc. for adult geese, put it between their wings.
when dosing think of it like applying frontline on a dog

Ivermectin pour on is ineffective against cecal and capillary worms and large roundworms are showing resistance in chickens. The reason is because more people use ivomec products as a miteacide rather than its primary purpose as a wormer in chickens. Worms have built resistance to ivomec products in chickens because of this, including eprinex. Ivomec products are still effective against mites in chickens.

There is a water soluble one for horses, but that's not sold in feed stores.

FWIW, I did an experiment with the injectable and verified that it floats. can do it again and take picture if anyone wants to see.

I have a large index card box with big index cards, with alphabetical separators for dosages for sheep, and rabbits, everything. Just to make sure I don't remember wrong.

Iivermectin sold in feed stores is not water soluble, and 1/4 cc or 6/7 drop is a huge amount of ivermectin. Probably not toxic, but it's probably a good 5-10x the recommended amount.

There is a water soluble one for horses, but that's not sold in feed stores.

FWIW, I did an experiment with the injectable and verified that it floats. can do it again and take picture if anyone wants to see.
