Considered those, too. Afraid chickens would perch on them & poop in the water; don't know about ducks![]()
only if the fence is grounded.Wonder how that would work running a bare wire through chain link?
I would clean that up, and I wouldnt stitch it @casportpony
He has peck marks on his back too. He's been separated from his siblings for now. They haven't bothered any of the other chicks but he clearly is a rooster so I think that was why he was singled out. Poor guyAttacked by a rooster![]()
Can you post a picture? I have had several pretty severe injuries heal no problem without stitches. One of my roosters was basically scalped and it healed great. I would think if you can get the skin to stay in place for 24 hours, it will heal the rest on it's own. Just make sure it's cleaned out well and use some antibiotic ointment.
If you can't get it to stay, are you near a tractor supply? They actually sell sutures...I would use the floss if I couldn't get anything else...
What about the flap of skin on the top part of his head? It is laying down in the picture but I can pick it up and see his muscles, or whatever is under thereI would clean that up, and I wouldnt stitch it
as I suggested clean it thorough and then just keep spraying it and let it dry out, if you can keep flies off it will grow closed
Not as bad as you think, I say no sutures.
