They startle me when I stumble on them unexpectedly but I love having them around.
There are no better ratters and mousers. They can get into those tight spaces where the vermin live. They do so around the clock. Cats can't do that even if they wanted to and they prefer songbirds.
There are more raccoons by a long shot per square mile in cities than in rural areas.Looking for property out in the country... These are things I'm gonna have to keep in mind for my flock....![]()
I'm in a large metropolitan area. We have virtually every predator here including coyote, fox, bobcats, the occasional cougar and bears are closing in.
