Just did a 10 sec candle..... There is shadowing and movement IN THE AIR CELL on some!!!!!!!!


I still aint sure if they have "draw down," but I also dont really know whut I am looking for.

The air cells are a good size though!!

@lozerface79 I finally de-broody-ed my Bielefelder hen... I just kept pulling her out of the nest box, I her up on a roost on Sunday night and she stayed there. I opened the nestboxes in the morning, and she was already out with the flock. She went in and out during the day, but the box she had been using was occupied and she finaly gave up! Mistake was not putting her on the roost last night because she slept in her least favorite box because the others were covered up...

at least I know what I should have done 3 weeks ago! I was just about to put her in isolation! She must have sensed it.

If you can, pull her out of the box and get her scratching around with flock. And put her on the roost - It took a weekend of harassing her! Good luck!

So i erm am a little worried. One of the chicks cords isnt ready to come off and they are running around the cage, im scared it will come off and it will bleed too much

Alright tomorrow i maybe might be able to work on he, but these chicks are draining me. Its 422 and i still havent gotten any sleep.

Hello all! I could use some hugging! I have had a dozen eggs in a new incubator with an automatic turner for 11 days. Last night I realized that the turner had never been plugged in - please don't ask...

I have been candling them, I marked the air sacs yesterday - one is floating. One may have the dreaded red ring, but I'm not certain so I will wait a bit on that one.

How bad is it that they haven't been turned unless I was candling?

I definitely feel your pain! I moved my remaining 6 out into one of the small coops with MHP setup - it is actually my Brinsea ecoglow. They are doing fine! And I am sleeping better. I am going to put the current dozen and the next 24 outside as soon as they hatch.

Downside is they don't know me that well...

but it is a lot less stinky in the family room!
