Happy Easter everyone! Hope it was good for all.

My Easter hatch is complete, not great.
Set 30, only 13 made it to lockdown.
Hatched only 8. One did not fully absorbed at hatch and died shortly after
Five late quitters, never finished developing.
I did have some temp issues early on in the hatch
Happy with the seven I have though.

Time to clean the bator for the April Hal, although one of my silkies is already sitting on a dozen eggs as of yesterday.....
Not holding my breath though, haven't switched Roos yet.

Sorry for the losses, but happy you got seven fuzzy butts.

24 out of 34 moved to the brooder. Incubator is still going but not sure anything else will hatch. Have a few pips and one that zipped but didn't make it out. Plan to give it till tomorrow afternoon maybe Tues but then it's time to get it cleaned out and ready to set for front of April.

YEP CLEAN it up!!!!

Hard night on the Roo's here. 15 cockerels soaking in an iced salt water cooler. Soak for a couple of days, rinse, vacuum seal and freeze.

Brit and I are pretty efficient chicken killer plucker cleaning machines. Start to finish and cleaned up in under an hour.

I am fairly happy with the results too.
I saw your post about turning your ankle again during my read back last night.
Be careful with that thing!
I broke mine over two years ago and strained the tendons and ligaments in the process
Just like you, I was too busy with all of life's demands at the time, bones healed quick, but it took forever for the tendons.
Still gives me a gentle 'poke' every now and again to remind me its fifty, not fifteen!
Take care to stretch and strengthen it regularly, and it rest it when practical!

Pretty good, actually. Surprised the wife by going to church with her this morning, then ate so much @ SIL's place I was miserable for a couple hours. Still had room for banana cream pie, though.

Dinner at my mom's on Friday, SIL's place yesterday, and at the neighbors today!
Still had room for desert at all three, but I won't need to eat until Wednesday or Thursday now!
