Well, Mr. Tucker's got himself a reprieve, at least for now. Before DW went back to work, I was asking her about the controls on her new stove so I could get the hot water ready. She asked if I planned to "do the deed" today. I told her I was as soon as the water got hot enough. Then I let her talk me into holding off, at least for the time being, and start carrying a stick with me in the run in case he decides to try me again. I know y'all think I'm only delaying the inevitable, and maybe / probably I am, but I've been sitting here thinking about it all day & most of last night since our little "encounter", and haven't felt at all comfortable with the finality of it all. I drove a lot of miles to get him, and have since invested a lot of time in him, and if I end it all now, I'll be that much longer getting the darker eggs that started this operation to begin with. Not that darker eggs are better than any others; I've known all along that isn't the case, but I happen to prefer them, and as long as I'm housing & feeding the producers of those eggs, why not try to get the results I want, the quickest way possible? Besides all that, I fell in love with him the first time I laid eyes on him; I thought he was a strikingly beautiful animal then, and I always will, regardless of the cause of his demise. Anyway, is it really his fault that he's protective of his little harem of redheads, or that his testosterone level is high? Isn't that the case with most males in their prime, regardless of species? Okay, I admit it; I'm really a big softy about animals. That's just me, & I can live with that. To be continued.... @Auroradream26

I'd screw up and log out just so I could call her to get my password back.
I know. I thought it would be fun having all the ladies but they just want to fuss. Maybe I'll trade them in for hamsters or gerbils.
Hey!! :rant
That makes about 6 of us.
No, make it seven now!
Does bubbles have unicorns? She could put the gators with the ducks since they both know how to swim.
Yep- rainbow, purple, and spotted! NEVER will I keep gators with my Burds. :smack
Highly unlikely but I bet Sir Ur has some.
Nope, he has a pegasus. Those are the flying 'uns.
Unicorns for sale (apparently)
I don't know who that is.... Really...
Ahh the beauty of the randomness of this thread will never cease to amaze me. Talking about outhouses and leave for a couple of hours and come back to unicorn eggs for sale. I wonder how big those are. Don't think they will fit in my LG 9200.
Me neither. :hit Anybody have mini unicorn eggs for sale? -Banti

This made me smile. Not that I'm happy that he's being obnoxious, just that he gets to live on a little bit longer. I absolutely loved that boy but I know that mean roos can't be tolerated. Maybe he'll calm down with age (if he loves long enough) or maybe the testosterone will die down eventually. Who knows. I guess that's what happens once a roo without a flock suddenly becomes the ruler of one.

As long as you can live with being a big softy about animals than I see no problem with it. Me and Roscoe (Rhodebar rooster I got from Aurora) have come to an understanding. I leave him alone with his girls and he leaves me alone. He took a boot to the chest once when he tried to find a line to cross, hasn't tried since.

How long did it take before he made a move on you? Rosco was always my special boy but never did more than the threatening eyeball once or twice. He's an amazing, sweet boy that loves to be held and cuddled when he's alone, without the flock.

I have some new "affectionate" boys growing out now. My son's young RIR boy is always flowing me around. Today, u thought he was being mean when he bit my arm BUT he then jumped on my hand and tried to mate it lol. His saddle feathers haven't even grown in yet! There's a typing lavender ameraucana that I'm almost positive is a roo that's happy to come greet me and fly up on my shoulder and a few CCL boys that are getting rather friendly.
