Home. It is a beautiful thing. Greetings everyone from SW Missouri on hump day. I have been too busy since I got home to get on. Please let me know if I missed anything big.
Welcome home, Dax! BTW, I've been meaning to thank you for giving me the idea to use those two-compartment goat feeders at TSC - I put oyster shell and grit in them, they work great and were cheap.
I am so chronically sleep deprived - couldn't sleep last night despite trying to go to bed early (something was wandering around last night and the neighbor's dog was barking - it was enough for me to go out and make sure all the chickens were ok in the middle of the night (around 2 am CDT, around when MC was putting out her trash). Nothing was in the yard (very good fencing, and coops very sturdy), but I was compelled to check anyway.
When I got home today, I did the minimum in chicken chores (it rained and was 78F when I was out there - I had to wear my long johns!
). Then I fell asleep for about 3 hours. Then locked them up for the night. Time for more sleep now.
But first - re: the house stories. When I bought my house, it had previously had a flat gravel roof, and some bozo who did a lot of bad renovation put a pitched metal roof over it (so my attic floor is the old gravel roof). Well the fireplace terminated in the attic, as did the venting for the heating unit. CRAZY. More crazy stuff as well (including an offer to take the old heating unit as an antique), but that is the weirdest...
I was coming! I actually came back because I saw her question in an email. I never want anyone to go unanswered if I can help. e Hi, Westley! Good night, Westley!
I was at the store yesterday morning thinking I hadn't heard from you in a while. I was going to come back and ask if you were on holiday in Italy. I guess I felt psychic vibes coming my way.
I knew that Italy is the one of the best places in the world to fined best quality ingredients, but I have never IMAGINE it is like that! I am in Lago di Garda and we are having The best food ever! I am going Wilde on the dishes I am making an my family and friends have a constant smile on their face! Especially my son, that is becoming a like me!
I've spent time at Lago di Como a couple times. It's about 150 km to the west of you as the crow flies. Are there palm trees? At Lago di Como, the lake is lined with palm trees and the snow capped peaks of the southern Alps just to the north are visible from your villa on the lake. It is heavenly beautiful place. I'm envious.
Don't worry, I'm a firm believer in set it and forget it! I've only opened my bator once before to assist a malpo chick that hit 1 hour zipping so I helped her out. The good news is my house will be spotless by the time these ducks finish hatching. Cleaning is all I can do to keep myself busy
Same here, but with a LG, that's almost impossible. I just went to check on mine before climbing 2 ladders to get on the roof and the LG was running at 105.1. It had been running cool a couple hours before.
It's funny, I went to check my hatch a batch to see when the eggs I have in my bator were due.....there were no active batches....I forgot to set the dates. So, now I think I have eggs to lock down either tomorrow or Friday. I haven't candled these eggs even once. I guess I need to set up a hatching bator. The next set I added about 2 week after the first. I know they were all set BEFORE I got the letter saying I have to get rid of them - so I guess that helps... There is only half a bator full, and I"m expecting most to be infertile....
I hope it works out for you whites. I think the problem is they have overloaded satelites, they need to shoot up another. Thats my thoughts my issues are trees and of course weather, but with satellite that will happen
Oh no. Two of our kids loved Guinea pigs growing up. They are smart. Now, one of them wants to get one because the apt. they are in allows small animals..birds. So, they will be getting a set up soon. That little piggy right there was a cutie. It's hard when they go. A great pet for sure.
