That sounds like a mallard. I am in Pennsylvania. A long drive for a drake. It's just funny how some people want a male, and others have too many.

I want a male and I have to many.

I love them. When a first got them, we were told they would be mean. But I think my rooster is defective because he wants cuddles and his back scratched all the time.

I've never heard that they are mean. I've heard that about Barred Rocks but never Doms. I really enjoy mine.

My guess NO. It is hard to even give away male critters bout these parts.... Dunno if it s different up your way.

If I had 10-15 more ducks I'd take him!!

we had 2 of each they had at tsc but we had a problem with raccoons and oppossums last year and took the whole flock except for him. I don't care whether it's male or female, I'll adopt them all lol. Granted, you need both for eggs to hatch lol. And if I run out of room, I build another coop. Can never have too many birds in the country. Love 'Em all. Saving up Money to but pea fowl too.

Don't forget goats as well............and mini cows.
