Quote: Yuck, definitely not maggots then. I hate worms. Makes me practically barfy to see them. A few years ago my Maltese boy got fly strike, and not only did it scare the you know what out of me seeing those maggots pouring out of my poor baby's
behind, but thought I'd pass out before we got to the vet for help. My husband and I love to fish,so for some reason a plain old nightcrawler,I can handle, but when he first introduced me to mealworms, no way. Now I'm raising those little critters and fishing with them. That's it,though. I hope you get your worm dilemma solved and that there's no more incidents with them. I've been very fortunate with my birds,(chickens, ducks, quail, and up to a month ago, geese), & haven't had any mite or worm problems. Only a rat infestation last winter in the coup that got resolved by hiding poison so the chickens couldn't get to it and flat out going out there at night, pellet gun in hand and shooting them. Hoping not to have to deal with that again this winter either. Have a great day :)
Hope you haven't made the same mistake I did when raising mealworms and tried to house them in styrofoam.

Ok but mix wise? Genetics wise?

lol, i have no idea, i wonder what would pass through though
could be a neat experiment

The Svart Hona is you roo correct?

Yep. When mixed with HRIR or EE, the cochin babies come out blue and fluffy.

But the fibro genes appear to be dominant, because I've gotten some black-skinned chicks with pea combs.

Maybe some really fluffy "dark and stormy night" type chickies??

This is a hona mix pullet.
