@chicken hawk 33 I want you to know I am glad you come, and you are willing to ask. Sorry if our answers disappoint you. Nothing long term comes from a relationship that young. Even those your age rarely result in anything. In a different time when people married younger and you did not get a divorce maybe, but very rarely now. Concentrate on being a good friend to those around you, seeing and meeting needs, caring when you don't want to, and you will be far ahead. Especially now when people people give up when they don't feel what they want. Feelings are very changeable.
Well said.
I wonder if CH has seen all the responses to his very good and important question.

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here for a bit. Yeah,I wholehearted agree with all that's been said here, but at 13 was your attention on schoolwork, or the cute guy on the other side of the room, or at the desk right next to you? It's easy for us as parents to sit here and talk about what should be, while we choose to forget what was uppermost in our own minds at the same age.
That's very true but I read some studies this morning that illustrate that same point.
Several studies from around the world point out higher test scores and a dramatically higher percentage of students that go on to 4 year colleges when they attend a single gender secondary school compared to those attending co-ed schools.

Quote: From what I remember my attention was on my schoolwork, swimming and horses, not boys, but there were plenty of girls my age that were into boys.. I can still remember standing out in the bike racks after school one day when a bunch of the girls confessed to their exploits. I was quite shocked, and still am, 'cause all I wanted to do was go ride my pony.
