The #1 suspect I would have is your thermometer. They're notoriously inaccurate and a 2° difference from optimal temp is enough to doom the entire batch. 2° off is all that thermometers are supposed to be as an accuracy range.I put my 5th batch of eggs from my chickens in my incubator over the weekend. It has an automatic turner and the humidity is between 55 and 60%. I have never gotten a live chick from my incubator. I had a little cheapy one that I couldn't keep the humidity correct and then bought a nice big one with the turner installed. Last batch I put 8 eggs in but only 5 had a dot in them on day 4. I kept them in there until they were 3 days overdue. Then I cracked them all open and 3 were nothing, 1 was a teeny little chick that had started and failed to grow and 1 was big and filled the shell and may have pipped out on it's own if I had known to float check him. I just learned about that here a few days ago. So now I have about 12 eggs in the incubator starting over. Let's see how they do now that I know a little more. Thanks for all the info though on humidity & temp levels.

I wish I could hear mine from inside the house - and they're not that far away. The cockerels don't drive me crazy though. I enjoy listening to them.
They're only annoying when there are 10 or more.Ok if you say so...
Good thing I didn't start with them in this city. They are loud!
