Just candled 3 very active embryos, the 1 pullet egg I still am thinking unfertilized, so will pull in a couple days

thanks, it is what it is at this point and certainly something I never thought I'd be dealing with when I bought my first chicks. Making the ones passing as comfortable as I can. So far none of my larger older birds have been affected yet, only a few of the smaller game fowl and this season's hatches. A little over a dozen been incinerated so far.

@BantyChooks I hatched 3 eggs in the incubator (3 EEs and 1 Marans/Orp cross), the broodies hatched 1 egg (EE), and I also got 9 chicks in the mail. They are all doing great now. I have 13 chicks. Swimming in chicks. My yard is going to be a disaster. They are soooo cute though.

How long has she been sitting now? I might go to Meyer Hatchery tomorrow and get her something to raise, preferably broad breasted turkey poults.

Wednesday the 7 was date I gave her eggs.

So nice to be close to a hatchery. Maybe....

Will they still have poults?

My cochin hen, White fluff has been spending *alot* of the time in an empty nesting box lately. My daughter was making a point to take her out every day, to make her eat and drink and run around. This morning she was out on her own free-will and dust-bathing in the dirt. I'm hoping that means she's over her broodiness.

Yep, I don't have a farm or anything, just my backyard, which now has 16 chickens in it. I feel like a hoarder, haha! Of course I won't be keeping them though.

I pass Meyers when I take the dogs herding, I've been very good. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming they should have broad breasted, they have in the past anyways.
