Very blessed. I am hoping they get to my water back on. I am spoiled and hate cold bucket showers.
I hope you are having a great day. Do you have any lovely meal photos today?
Cold bucket showers are the worst. I forgot your water situation when you said you showered at the truck stop.
Think of all the cold bucket showers people in Flint, Michigan have had in the last couple years.

I don't have to squint, either, but it blew my mind so much I kept doing it 5 or 10 more times
I did it a bunch too.
Hard to fathom how an animal can squeeze thru a hole much smaller than the diameter of its skull
I don't think they can. A weasel skull is just over an inch long and much narrower.
Regardless of age, the skull is less than 40mm and it is flat.

Wonder what part of "1/4" hardware cloth" he didn't understand the first time
I don't think punctuation is required anymore in schools
I wonder if it is schools (which it is in many cases) or the student or home schooling.
I was always told, in order to teach, the teacher needed to know more than the student.

Normally, I wouldn't presume to call you out, but the Eastern Time Zone is an hour ahead the Central zone, ahead of the Mountain time, and three ahead of Pacific

I think that's what I said, just in a different way.

For Rosh Hashana are you also supposed to call everyone that may have wronged you and give forgiveness, so as to start the new year fresh and clean?

Sounds like AA.

26 looks the worst, thats the only one i see cracked though

I didnt know it snowed in LA, but it doesnt surprise me either
i have worked in all areas of the company, but its a cruise agency mostly
i am not the best at geography but it always amazes me how bad others are
I was in the army in Fort Polk, Louisiana in December and we had about 1" of wet snow. They freaked out and all of us northern soldiers had to drive the civilians home.

My wife had a one person travel agency. It was mostly adventure and specialty travel along with just air fare.
The air fare thing killed her when the airlines cut commissions to 5% and a max of $50 per ticket. Then people would call wanting you to play 'Beat that Fare' eating up your time and not intending to buy.
She did an elaborate wedding at a Scottish castle. More complicated was that people came from all over the states. Some wanted to go early and travel the UK, while some wanted to stay longer. She did all their stays at various types of lodging around the continent in addition to everything down to the flowers, cake and kilts for the men. She was pulling her hair out as changes kept coming in.
She did things like month long stays with a Shaman in the Southwest. Also crewed and non-crewed sailing charters.
It was always interesting.

i have never travelled but even before i started here i knew where Israel is
and many other places lol
its a sad sad world we live in these days
Very sad. It makes me wonder how people can go through life and internalize nearly zero information.
We occasionally play games like trivia with my wife's sister's family. Her kids are all adults. It's scary how little they know beyond their social media world.

I've never travelled, and with out looking at a map, I'd have said that Isreal is somewhere in the middle east, with the hot, dry climate countries.

To be more specific, i'd have to look at a map. LOL
That's an excellent start.
African regions and parts of Asia are a bit of a challenge.

As to the eggs, 2 had tiny cracks, I put liquid bandages on them both. There's a total of 28 eggs. I don't know how to tell if they are fertilized or not, other then putting them into the incubator and waiting a week. Since the incubator has wet rocks in it atm, the humidity is around 60% I can live with that as long as the temp stays okay.

It's around 98ish, so i'm trying to get it up to around 100 so I can just leave it be and put the eggs in before bed tonight. I'm going to leave them alone over the weekend, then start turning them on monday. that way I give the air cells the best possible chance, and hopefully won't loose too many babies in the process.

She send me whites, blues, lavanders, buffs, splashes, and a few mystery color ones, that she doesn't know what they are I think I got maybe 2 black eggs, I'd LOVE a black silkie, so crossing fingers that one hatches! ;o
The eggs are likely coming up to temperature internally so don't push it to read 100.

Something's bad wrong if you're only getting 1 or 2 eggs/day out of 40 layers! Doesn't that set off any alarms in your head?
How old are they?
What are you feeding?
I'm getting 1 to 2 eggs from 10 hens. Most are molting.

I think it refers to selfishness and loving yourself too much, where your wants and desires override your care or in that case leads to a lack of caring for others.
That's what I guessed. Sounds like a good sermon.

That was my thought too.... if you have 40 eggs, you should at minimum be getting 20ish eggs a day. Assuming that they don't even lay every day.
It depends on breed, age and season. This is the time of year most birds molt in second and subsequent autumns.
Some breeds just don't lay well. There are breeds that only lay around 100 a year and others that are lucky to lay 40 a year.

hugs morning Michael!

or for the next few days it looks like here!

he has a facebook page now

hugs whites, under water is right!
hugs !!! you got this!! keep that air flowing ohhhhh I forgot, you know I run a hotter bator right? not sure if you picked up on that. it may not hurt with these, anyways good air flow and keep that humidity LOW LOWLOW!! Cant wait to see these monsters hatch!!! so fun!
Those are very nice. Crafty soul you are.

@Sally - I posted some of the candled egg air cells... there's a total of 28, but the majority look like the ones I shared, there's a couple obvious saddle ones, jiggled ones, I lost 2 eggs to being broken open completely, and 2 with minor cracks that I fixed with liquid bandage (a pip hole style crack, so maybe salvageable.)

Any personal suggestions on shipped eggs besides the upright thing? I was planning on turning them starting on monday, putting them into the incubator tonight before bed and just leaving them alone over the weekend.

Since there's so many of them, I was going to candle them in small chunks every few days. (like around day 5, 6 7, candle each line seperately, remove any that are dead, etc.)

What's the best way to do a bigger batch?
Upright but don't wait too long to start turning.
I weigh eggs rather than candling. If I have a lot of eggs, I'll weigh about every 6th egg, record the weights and then do the math.
Loss of 0.65% per day.

I'm always reminded when I look at a world map how difficult it is to get a perspective of relative sizes of things on a globe when seen in a flat view like a Mercator projection.

Kathy you are showing how big we are?

Almost as big as Greenland,

I am needing recommendations for possum pellet gun. Effective on racoons, too would be great.
Live in the city, so need one that's vewwy, vewwy qwiet.
Thanks
in advance
Thanks! I have a 22 pistol I inherited. I could use it if one were to be caught in a trap,
It's been locked in a safe 15yrs, but I remember it not being vewwy qwiet.
Yeah, I shouldn't shoot here either. How about a crossbow. A good pellet gun will work for possums but may not work for coons. I tried to be quieter by using cb shells in my 22 revolver. They weren't that quiet and the raccoon looked at me like he was saying - "is that all you got?"

free range and laying pellets we give them cracked red pepper yogurt and stuff.and most are young about 7 my months to a yeast old

Yep, that stuff. It's not always as pretty in real life. I picked up a piece of dr pepper bottle on my last trip, I'll take a pic later.

I AM NOT A BUILDER OF ANY SORT but I toyed with the idea of making a big rock tumbler out of a washing machine drum or something similar, and trying to make my own sea glass.
I know nothing of sea glass other than what Liz just told me, but I doubt it could be done in several eons, let alone a single lifetime
That's with the soothing waves of the ocean. I would gyrate the heck out of it.
O.K. Have at it, & best of luck to you
