Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

Goodness! You all were carrying on while I was away washing dishes! :) But I read all your posts - and thank you.

Mark went off to the pharmacy to get some polyvisol. We can get to Tractor Supply tomorrow - the snow is coming down now, and the TS is a little farther away, so I prefer to not be out in it if we can avoid it.

Alcatraz is not super active, but doing OK, I think. He keeps climbing onto the sponges to lay on them in the bator - all of the ducklings did, actually. Not sure if they like the dampness or just to be off the wire. Do you think it is OK for them to sit on the sponges?
A great source for bacteria, I would not.

Well, they are making this confusing!

This is EXACTLY what Mark bought, and I googled photos of the box that has IRON in it. So I know he bought the right one. HOWEVER, if you read the ingredients on this one, one of them is "ferrous sulfate (as a stabilizer for vitamin B12)." Ferrous sulfate IS a type of IRON! HOWEVER, there is added "IRON" on the PVS with iron, so I am OK with this one being the one you are all suggesting...but it's just weird that they actually DO add iron! :)

With IRON, is TO Much, they can have a little but NOT a lot and the one with Iron, Is way to much for them to handle.

OK - Polyvisol given. I am sure it doesn't taste good - it smells yucky! He took it - with attitude! I think he's going to be OK. He looks good to me, just not as crazy active as Breeze was! But he is moving around, and has his eyes open...I think he just went through a LOT last night with that hatch! :) He's another yellow with a black tail!

NICE, the polyvisol doesn't taste good I'm sure, it does seem to make them hungry. You can squirt a full dropper of it in there water, let them all have some, it's not going to hurt them..

I was so jealous of everyone's babies that I had to get my fix. My ducks and geese aren't coming til May so got some chicks. Never wanted chickens but oh my gosh they are so sweet and loving! Here are their pictures in these threads. Something to do while we wait on the rest of these scovies to hatch!

They are probably climbing on the Sponge because it's WARM, they like to be very warm... I would try to discourage it but sometimes you just can't help it. You have to keep that humidity up, now you could put it in a cup like I had suggested earlier then they can't get to it.

now if I could only get some silkies so their BUTTS stay fuzzy! Shyguy is already sprouting tail feathers!

HUMMM. I think I may know someone who can help. Let me see, I can't remember her screen name, something like Larry, lacrisses, Dang it I just can't remember this old age is a Killer..

Laytol, Lysol, HUM. I will come to me.

Lier, laSissy, LeCryall, GRRR....
