Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

Oh, that is so ugly!  :(  I mean, it makes me feel so bad!  I hope I don't have any like that...I'm not strong enough to take it!

I am having a heck of a time with the humidity!  It's still low - on BOTH hygometers!  Currently, 40%.  I put another (#2) sponge in.  I think part of my problem, obviously, is controlling HOW WET the sponges are!  Even three that are just slightly wet aren't helping the humidity...but if I make them wringing wet, even one puts it over 80%!  I have to find the right combination.

By the way, #5 is still peeping and making the little "clicking" sound like Peeper was.

Sure, we can call this one a "he."  I just don't WANT any males, heck, with under an acre of land, I don't know why I even incubated these as I will have to find homes for any over maybe 2 females!  Our male is slightly dominant toward our hens (not quite aggressive, but not very nice most of the time!), and I sure as heck don't want more males!  Calling the ducklings "she" is just wishful thinking!

How did you handle taken pics of "her". Those were pretty graphic. That's what they should look like when hatching that's actually a clean escapee.. Well then will call number 5 ducky loll are you taken Number 5 out? Please don't touch ducky we need IT to be safe and sound, hopefully tomorrow will see improvements, like a bigger hole. Right now ducky can breath and can aim for that hole....

Surely does seem like that, how stupid. Sorry but come on let's think logically who's going to turn an egg 96x. Unless that's the total amount for the entire process, let me go back and read it...

Hell a chicken nor a duck will take that much time out if there busy schedules to do that... Lol

I have my bator set to hourly and if I remember I press the button when I walk by it. Today I pressed it about 10 times, lol.

it's also talking about chicken eggs I think. Does it sound feasible for a chicken hen to turn her eggs every 15 minutes? I am not sure if the numbers would be different for ducks, but if you're having issues it's definitely worth a try to see if it makes any difference. I'm sure the little guys appreciate the extra attention and they are probably more comfortable that way.

Happy Saturday - here's the update!

#5 is on day 38. I can see him moving and hear him peeping, but he has not enlarged the safe hole we made for him yesterday. Not sure - maybe he can't reach it! Here's a photo:

#6 is on day 37. We don't see any movement or hear any peeping (although we HAVE seen movement in the past!). Should I make a safe hole for him? Here's a photo:

Today is day 32 for egg #11, and we saw movement. We moved him to lockdown. Here's a photo:

What's the thought? Time to start intervening for #5? He's been peeping for over 36 hours...

Number 5 looks shrink wrapped to me, but again, I am a novice at this.
