Incubator flooring to stop splayed leg

I've had a couple of chicks and one duck with splayed leg due to the slipperiness of the incubator floor and have found that putting a cloth on the incubator floor stops it from happening but does anyone have any other ideas to stop splayed leg from occurring? And will this stop humidity of airflow throughout the incubator?

I use soft non-adhesive perforated shelf liner. It is available online, sometimes at dollar stores and anywhere shelf liner is sold.

The cloths? Maybe a day or two before hatching I put them in.
