Incubator humidity and temp help

No fan, and the vent holes are on the opposite side of the heat lamp. And I took a pen and poke holes into it.

OK, being you do not have a fan I am sure with the light bulb if you take temp readings in different places there will be a lot of difference in the temp throughout your incubator. Do let us know how your hatch turns out! Good Luck!

I have never been so happy to keep the humidity the same for a complete hour, LMAO. I think got the right amount of water in their, and can contain the same amount of water.

As for temp, I've been able to keep it at 99- 102 so far, im not sure if the 102 is deadly or not.

Humidity, I have a couple different sources, that say different things, so far, im keeping aiming for 50-65% until the final 3 days, then make it go up to 70%, which I know how much water to get it to stay in that general area, as that's where it was stuck until u took out 3 full cups of water.

Quick update!

I have the temp steady that seems to stay between 98-101 now, and humidity doesn't drop below 50% and at the time im setting the eggs, they should hatch BEFORE school starts, so I won't be constantly worrying about it going below a certain temp or humidity.

OK, Let me introduce myself, I hatch a lot of eggs, over 10,000 in the last 3 years, I personally would not be able to sleep if I knew my humidity was above 50% for the first 18 days---I shoot for 30's some for the first 18 days and I have awesome hatches. All my friends in my area stay in the 30's, some people I have "helped" stay in the 30's, 1 in Canada, some towards the west coast, some on the east coast. I do not know where you live but I personally would not go with what I read without checking it out----try to find some one on here in your area that hatches a lot and has Great hatches to find out where they try to be humidity wise------until you get with a good hatcher for this info---drop it some---that's to high in my opinion. Good Luck

Well, I probably killed the eggs I put in there, the humidity was reaching 70, so I removed ALL water, and it got to the 80s, im pretty sure those are not going to hatch at this point, and this was the only batch I would be able to monitor and turn eggs in, so i'll have to wait until next summer, when I WILL have an actual incubator..

70% humidity will not kill the eggs unless it stays there for many days. You must be got a problem with your humidity meter because I read you removed all the water and it went up to 80's%???

x2!

If it's that high with no water, something is definitely wrong.
