Incubator humidity and temp help

Ah, so if I buy it, I wont be able to trust the thermometer that comes with? And the accurite hygrometers are pieces of crap as well?

Probably explains why my humidity was going up even after the water was removed....

Know any good hygrometer and thermometers? Lol

Any one know how to make an incubator out of a mini fridge? Any videos that are recommended would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the help in advance.

I use that one for hatching (final 3 days only) when i do staggered sets. I didn't read the thread that PD linked, but in my experience with it, mine holds temp and humidity very well! I did cut a couple more vent holes in the side, also used to re-wet sponges when necessary. But definitely do NOT trust the unit's meters. If i had, all of my eggs would have been cooked solid. When i keep it steady at 101-102, the unit only reads about 98 or less. If i cranked it up according to the unit, all the chicks would die.

obviously they will all differ out of the box, so test it before you use it.
and i would recommend a reptile thermometer/hygrometer. test both readings for accuracy before you start and adjust for variations.
