incubator over heating, advice?

I thought that would be the situation you are in!

There is not much you can do but check long range forecasts before starting a batch of eggs

I hope you get some to hatch!

We have heat waves for the rest of summer, I can’t believe it! Summer here has a whole new meaning now.

No one sells eggs here in winter though as they save them to hatch themselves, so this *ideally* would be the best time to hatch...

I have all limbs that can cross, crossed.

If you have a lot of heat waves, it is from climate change. It might be time to get at least a window AC. This stuff is not going to bet better

Agreed. And if one has respiratory issues, or is older or younger, or has circulatory or cardiac issues, AC is not a luxury, it is a necessity.

I’ll definitely have to look into getting an AC unit at least.

That’s the main issue with leaving it open at this point, humidity drops far too low. So I had to close it and dropped the temperature by 1.5 degrees, I’m still seeing small heat spikes though, would dropping it to 32c be too low for the eggs?

Set your temp at the hottest part of the day and let it drift down over night.

I would use some frozen water bottles laying near the bator intake or under the blowing fan that's being used. Or even spritz water mist in from of the fan... it really helps with the cooling effect here kinda like what we call swamp coolers. The idea, water drip onto pads and the air blows through.

Also, some of my bators do fine adjusting for embryo heat output while some I have to manually turn the temp down as we get closer to hatch... or it will go way up.

I’ve just helped one chick out

Unfortunatley 6 are dead, but there are 4 more to hatch, two have external pips
