My wife and I are very disappointed. We ordered rare eggs and a new incubator to give a try and not adopting. As we can tell everything was text book but yesterday was 21 days and nothing. The temp was a constant 99.5 there was water for humidity and he had a egg turner to do the turning. We didn't touch the eggs or mis handle them.

Any answers to our dilemma?

Did you candle them at any time after day 7

on day 10 you will be 100% able to see if they were fertile or not

if you candle again on locdown day you will see a dark egg with an empty space on the rounded part of the egg, this is a good sign.
if you see a black mass floating , is dead

do a water test

get a glass of warm water put 1 egg in the water and wait
if the chick is alive the egg will start rocking

if it sinks is dead
if it floats like if its empty is dead too

what was you humidity during the incubation?
and during the lockdown?

This may seem silly.
At the very end, I will tap at the side of the egg and often you can hear the peep. They will peep at you.
If your humidity was too low and the chick is still alive you may have to help them hatch. I've had to do this twice, but you need to be careful. If the egg sack has not been pulled into the chick they will die.

Shipped eggs have a much higher failure rate than locally procured eggs so that might be your problem. The eggs may have been infertile, may have been treated so roughly in transit that the air sacs are now of poor quality, or may have got cold enough to freeze at some point in their journey to you. There are probably other possibilities as well. Sorry - rough lesson to start out. My DH and I built an incubator before Christmas and got some fertile "mutt" eggs locally, just to test the incubator. The problem with trying it for the first time on expensive shipped eggs (apart from the expense and frustration) is that at the end you don't know if it was the eggs that were bad, or if you did something wrong while incubating. If you are able to eliminate one of those, it gives you a better idea of what to change for next time.

we need to know some number in order to help you

HUmidity
temperature

how long did you wait after you got the eggs to put them in the bator?
