Hello guys, I am going to buy incubator for ostrich eggs. I need help i am interested in buying incubator with the capacity of 100 eggs.
Kindly explain me difference between incubator hatcher and incubator setter?
If im buying incubator hatcher with the capacity of 100, the size of incubator setter should be same of different?

Can’t answer your question, Sexyneme; but I can tell you that a whole bunch of BYC emu lovers are thinking to themselves: ‘Incubate a hundred ostrich eggs? A hundred ostrich chicks? A hundred grown ostriches . . . wow!!’

That sure would be a lot of them.....are you starting an ostrich farm? i dont know of any incubator that would hold a 100 of those big things....they are huge. you would have to find a industrial size incubator......somewhere.... Or buy a lot of incubators......lol. A setter should be the incubator where you place the eggs to hatch...noally has an egg turner. the hatcher should be where you place the eggs when they are.due to hatch...it has no turner.

The setter is used to incubate the eggs only and has an auto turner but no room for lock down. Thus you need to have another place to hatch the eggs, that is were the "hatcher" is needed.

The incubator hatcher is similar to the setter except it has drawers to hatch out the eggs and does not allow for an auto turner or racks, any eggs must be turner by hand.

So basically you will need each of these to hatch out eggs or you can just get a combo - an incubator that has the auto turner racks and a hatching drawer, but this set up means less eggs in the incubator. You need to know how many eggs you want to hatch then decide on which of the above suits your needs.
