Incubators:
I actually prefer the wafer thermostat. I feel like I have control to easily adjust and replace parts. If a wafer gets old & temp swings happen, just screw in a new one & you're back to normal. Humidity tends to cause problems with electrical devices, so I'm always afraid it will break during a hatch.

Chicks:
We sold most of the orps - kept one (a week old lav)to grow out - and kept the 4 wk old silkies. Cookie is now down to these 6 chicks, so we let them have some grass time. Thankfully, we finally had a nice spring day!

DD has a bin of bantams in the house. We had a late hatching buff orp who got put with the bantams. She's the sweetest thing but towers over her serama & OEG siblings. I tried putting her outside with Cookie & the silkies. Cookie gently pecked her head. She froze & stayed submissive, Cookie walked away, & the buff pathetically looked up at me. ("Why did you put me here?" "Why am I not in your arms?") I caved & she's still in the house with the bantams. I'd prefer they all be in the garage, but the kids are really enjoying holding them.

I absolutely LOVE the melting chicks picture lol

Ebony, my muscovy, has hatched out her little duckling! It literally just hatched and she is so excited and tentative right now :) This is the first time I've ever let her sit and hatch. She such a sweet mama. I'll go out in an hour or so and get a picture. She'll hopefully be all fluffy by then. She's already adorable!

I'll take one off your hands! I could use a cabinet hatcher lol

I can't decide which one (or two) I want to keep yet! Also have one friend that is considering one, but when I get them cleaned out and tested, I'll let ya know. Then maybe I can get some cream legbar eggs from you that the post office can't ruin! :D

Yes, I'd say a pair. The one with the head spot doesn't have the eyeliner and chipmunk stripes.

:clap
She is a little slow, and not eating nearly as well as he is. And he doesn't seem to like her much, but their hatchmate cochins will be leaving Thursday, so they better cozy up! Lol

It's way too early in their relationship for them to have drama already! Lol. They'll get used to each other. If she's still a little slow, give her a little drop of vitamins to perk her up.

I'm very excited! Lockdown tomorrow....BLRW! I can't wait! I'm hoping for a good hatch and lots of blues!
