Yep! I visited with the guy and he has ALOT of trays but most are for pheasants and quail

I might have to use those for bantams and resell most of them. Hey Ralphie do you still plan on getting into Pheasants? If so you can take any trays for them lol.

I am thinking of racing you to longville, I know someone that lives really close to it.


Do not sell the pheasant trays yet...

One can never have too many trays.

Well I couldn't let all my incubators set.

I now have 5 going.
Reptipro 6000. 30 quail eggs and 12 pheasant.

1588 with 37 eggs on lockdown.
1588 with 42 turkey eggs.
Brinsea 20 with 10 turkey eggs.
1502 with 150 chicken eggs and 18 turkey eggs.

Get 10 more turkey eggs will have 50 more to go in.

So a big thank you to all the enablers that help feed my addiction.

Must slow down but I think all of them need to be full. And right now they pretty much are.

Next is how to make brooders accommodate the hopefully large influx of chicks.

It's sad when you totally forget you bid on an auction that ends a week from the date you bid. You totally low bid it - since you really don't need more chickens. You had started a bidding war on this seller's previous auction and when they bid past your maximum bid, I dropped out. Saw her post another set of eggs, so I bid - I was the only bidder. I paid, I should get the eggs on Friday.

But, I have Sebrights and Biefelders on day 4, Seramas on day 3, I have Maran, Lavender Orpingtons and Tolbunt Polish egg ready to set tomorrow. Plus I have some Birchen/Maran on their way - should be here tomorrow. Let's see....16 Polish, 16 Lav Orps, 16 Maran going in tomorrow. Who knows how many the next 2 boxes will bring. At least the Maran and Biels are NOT my chicks. Plus the owner of the Biels and Marans - she and I are splitting whatever hatches from the Birchen/Maran eggs. .

Crazy run of chicks - Let's hope the low humidity on the dark eggs, and the high humidity on the Seramas can all be worked out. I think I'll be running 3 incubators.....

A very nice young lady with 4H sued the city - saying the no chicken rules prevented her from being a part of 4h. So, the city allows anyone in 4h to have up to 6 hens, as long as they have a 5,000 foot lot. When neighbors complained about 15 things up here - 13 of them being perfectly fine and not true, the city inspector guy said if I gave him proof my daughter was in 4h, we could have chickens. He said once that was taken care of, if anyone complained to them about chickens they would tell them I was allowed to have them.

The other item, my brother was living in a motor home on the side of my yard. We had a evict him. It's illegal to live in a motor home on private property.

Once I signed her up, we've had zero issues.

hehehehe.....no, zero roosters, it's the whole chicken math - bantams aren't really chickens- they are bantams. Babies aren't chickens, they are still pullets. For the laying hens, they are providing food, they aren't freeloaders. For the few freeloaders I have, I wouldn't be able to tell you which ones they were, but those are the only ones that count. That should be less than 6 right?
